Course description

Course Summary

This workshop provides a broad overview of dementia as a major neurocognitive disorder, including signs and symptoms, causes, and a deeper understanding of how dementia affects the brain and behaviour. You will be encouraged to reflect on your practice and ways this knowledge translates into person-centred dementia support for people living with dementia.

At the end of this session you will gain knowledge in:
the nature of dementia, including prevalence, risks, types of dementia and signs of dementia
the impact of dementia
a person-centred approach to dementia support
resources and services available
