Dementia Community of Practice

For all the motivated professionals working in residential or home and community aged care seeking to transform their organisation’s approach to supporting people living with dementia, we have created Communities of Practice. This is an exciting initiative – to be part of a group of like-minded people committed to achieving practice change.

DA curve white

Dementia Australia knows that empowered individuals are key to leading improvements in practice.

The program enables passionate individuals with diverse experience to come together to create positive change and foster innovation in their workplace. Communities of Practice are the perfect way to network with your peers, and build relationships that support members to share knowledge and lead improvements in practice.

Each month you will join your cohort of peers to engage in discussions on implementing change, learn about new and emerging trends in dementia care, and be inspired by guest speakers and dementia experts. You will already be working with people living with dementia, and have a sound knowledge and understanding of dementia practices. This will allow you to focus on engaging in discussions on implementing change, and how you can achieve this within your sphere of influence in your work environment.

As a member of one of our Communities of Practice you will:

  • Develop a support network through regular meetings and online discussions with like-minded people.
  • Share practice change knowledge and ideas with members with diverse experience from across the country.
  • Learn about new and emerging trends in dementia care.

Get in touch if you are interested in participating in this exciting initiative. Eligible participants must be working with people living with dementia in a professional capacity.

This is a Dementia Training Australia (DTA) course, funded by the Australian Government under the Dementia and Aged Care Services Fund and delivered by Dementia Australia (RTO Code 2512). For more information about DTA, please visit dta.com.au
